The Tamale Software Solutions team is seeking an experienced Flex2 developer for contract work on a series of projects developing custom components, custom data dashboards, and customized MVC applications for our clients in the financial industry.
Our clients challenge us to build applications that are highly interactive, data-dense, include visual analytics and charting, data mashups, and involve complex integration with other applications. At the same time, they require that these applications have optimal usability, are intuitive and easy to navigate, and are also delivered in a timely manner. Responsibilities include the following:

 |
Developing custom RIAs in Flex2 which allow users to query, view, edit, and commit data to a persistence layer. |
 |
 |

 |
 |
Developing interactive data dashboard applications with Flex2 charting components and other controls. |
 |
 |

 |
 |
Defining XML-based data models for persistence and interchange of data between Flex2 interface and back-end server. |
 |
 |

 |
 |
Creating custom Flex2 components to plug into a modular data-aware framework. |
 |
 |

 |
 |
Creating unit tests and documentation for Flex2 applications and components. |
 |
 |
The Flex2 Contractor will be working closely with members of both the New York and Boston offices. This contract work can lead to fulltime employment. |

Required: |

 |
2+ years current experience with Adobe Flex. |
 |
 |

 |
 |
Experience with MVC architectures such as Cairngorm, as well as other common design patterns in Flex2. |
 |
 |

 |
 |
Experience with custom component development in Flex2./td>

 |
 |

 |
 |
Strong OOP skills in Actionscript, background in another object oriented language such as Java is a plus. |
 |
 |

 |
 |
Strong experience with XML, E4X, and experience with Flex and web services, both SOAP and REST based. |
 |
 |

 |
 |
High level of independence and professionalism, willingness to self-start, take on project ownership, set and meet deadlines. |

 |
 |
Experience with the following is a bonus: |

Experience with FlexUnit for unit testing. |

Experience with Flex Charting packages. |

Experience with AJAX, DHTML, CSS, other open RIA technologies. |

Current on the latest Flex developments, such as Advanced Datagrid in Flex3, AIR applications, etc. |

 |
Experience with CVS, VMWare, Eclipse, in software development context. |
 |
 |

 |
Experience working with investment professionals, e.g. hedge funds, fund-of-funds, foundations, mutual funds, private equity funds, prime brokerages, etc. |
