MARK RICE
President and CEO
Prior to joining Tamale in March 2004, Mark was a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, where he held a series of positions with increasing responsibility over
a 20 year career. Most recently he was the CTO for the global Prime Brokerage
division where he oversaw a technology budget of $100MM and had responsibility
for the development, sales, deployment and support of their client technology
products and consulting services. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Williams
College, with a degree in mathematics.
MIKE REFOJO
Senior Vice President, Head of Global Sales
Mike has eighteen years of experience in the asset management industry, the last
thirteen years in institutional sales and sales management. Mike comes to Tamale
from Russell Investments where he was Director of Institutional Sales, responsible
for managing Russell’s New York office as well as overseeing all east coast
investment sales to the institutional investment community. Before joining Russell,
Mike was a Managing Director and Head of Institutional Sales at State Street
Research & Management (SSRM) in Boston. Prior to SSRM, Mike spent nine years
at Scudder where he held senior level institutional sales positions in Los Angeles
and New York, and spent the last two years in Boston overseeing North American
sales, consulting relations and investment product management for Scudder’s
defined contribution business. Mike started his career at Fidelity where he spent
six years in various institutional sales and service roles.
KEN JACOBSON
Chief Operating Officer
Ken joined Tamale in 2004 from George Group Consulting where he spent six years
as a partner leading enterprise-wide business improvement initiatives related
to new product design, strategic planning, program management, and supply chain
operations. Prior to this, he spent ten years leading technology development
efforts for an Air Force R&D lab in areas such as command and control software,
information systems, and wireless communications. He holds a B.S.E.E. from Tufts
University and an MS from MIT Sloan.
JOHN FAWCETT
Chief Technology Officer
John is a Tamale founder and its first employee. Launching Tamale in September
2002, John led the development of Tamale RMS, the class-defining research management
solution that also broke ground as a truly packaged enterprise solution. Before
starting Tamale, John worked in Boston as a hedge fund analyst covering the software
industry. Prior to joining the hedge fund, John worked as a consultant building
combined data and video systems. His work included the design of an integrated
live stats and video system for Major League Baseball. John graduated Cum Laude
from Harvard College with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
DANIEL DIAS
President, TSI
Danny joined Tamale in June of 2005 to assume the role of Product Manager. He
started his career in finance on Merrill Lynch's credit derivatives desk after
graduating Magna Cum Laude from Harvard College with a degree in Computer Science
with a focus on economics. In 2000, he took an opportunity to join a burgeoning
long short equity fund and worked his way to the Director of Research role. In
his two years as Director of Research the fund was one of the top performing
Long / Short Equity hedge funds. Recognizing the importance of software solutions
in the increasingly competitive hedge fund marketplace led Danny to
be a founding member and ultimately a full-time employee of Tamale Software.
JOHN H. LEE
Vice President, Head of Global Client Services
John joined Tamale as the third employee in May 2003. He successfully deployed the flagship product to the first beta clients in 2004, and then defined and built a service organization to deliver world-class support to clients. He heads the Client Services team, which is responsible for product deployment, training, workflow consulting, suppport, and account management. Prior to joining Tamale, John was a consultant at Accenture where he held several positions over a four year career. He managed client teams to drive productivity and business process improvements, and he contributed within consultant teams during various phases of the client life cycle, including: requirements definition, software design, usability testing, software development, and quality assurance. He graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a degree in English literature.
